Private connections provide the ability for ECX customers to connect to their own assets on ECX or to each other using Organization profiles. For more details go to the Organization Profile section.
From the “Create Connections” tab, select “Source Metro.”
To the same organization
To connect to another port within your own organization, select your organization’s profile from the drop-down menu on the Create Connections screen. If your organization has ports in multiple markets, you will also need to select a source and destination metro.
If you have been granted appropriate permissions by the ECX Master Admin in your organization, you will have the ability to assign a source port, destination port and associated VLAN IDs on the same screen to create and auto- approve the connection.
To a different organization
Unless you have previously been provided access to another organization’s profile, you will only see commercial seller profiles of CSPs in the drop down menu on the “Create Connections” screen. To connect to another organization, you will need to know an email address of an ECX user associated with the organization.
Under “Connect to public or private cloud”, select “Request Permission to Private Service.”
In the email field, type the email address of an ECX user associated with the organization account to which you are trying to connect.
Complete all required fields > Click “Submit Request.”
Once the email is validated, all the organization profiles associated with that email address will be populated in the drop-down menu. If the email address is not associated with an organization profile on ECX, the circular icon next to the email address will turn red and the user will not see any profiles in the drop-down menu.
Once complete, you will recieve the following confirmation screen:
Note: An email notification will be sent out to the approver to review and approve the private connection request.
