The subscription defines the services with which your RI will be associated, receive routes and advertise routes. You “subscribe” to a service that has been defined and is active by way of a service profile by choosing it by name. The name is typically aligned with a cloud, software, security, network or other recognizable service with which you have a relationship.
When a subscriber wants to connect its customer edge router through its Equinix port on the ECX platform, the routing instances to a subscriber’s port through the Create Connection procedure before subscribing to an Layer 3 service. Currently, the CXP will not allow you to subscribe to a routing instance unless it is connected to a port.
From the Components tab, click Subscriptions > Create Subscription
Select metro > Select Service Profile
Note: If the service profile drop-down does not populate, you must create a routing instance for that metro within the “Seller Service Profiles” tab.
Once you have selected a metro and service profile, you will be prompted to select a routing instance.
Note: If the routing instance drop-down does not populate, then you must create a routing instance for that metro within the “Routing Instance” tab.
Complete all required fields
To view and select optional services, click the drop-down menu next to Optional Network Services. If desired, select optional services. The following optional services are available on the Connector component:
Perform NAT: This service allows you to define traffic that will be NATted before it is advertised to the specified provider associated with this subscription. This is an optional service, but may be required to subscribe to some providers, is useful when using private addressing on your routing instance, and may streamline other functions.
Dedicate Connection: This service allows you to select a connection from any that are associated with the routing instance, and that connection will be dedicated to only passing the routes for this subscription back and forth. It allows for better isolation.
Once complete, click Create Subscriptions
View, delete or clone a subscription
From the Subscriptions tab, click the gray button to expand the subscription
To delete, scroll to the bottom of the box and click “Delete Subscription.” To duplicate, click “Clone.”
